Hey Bangers ,

Well it is Monday morning and I just got back from an unfriendly Gulf Of Mexico. After coming in last night at 11:00 pm I got a few hours of much needed sleep to return at 3am to try to serve the "ANASTASIA" a shot of bait for a long trip .My mission failed due to rough seas.....

The good news is the bait has shown up in force and we pretty much had bait for everyone the past few weeks including some for the marina to cover the afternoon fishing trips.I've just started our new man this week on my old carolina skiff and he did a great job considering he started on a weekend. (he has been in training).
Our selection of bait has not changed much in the last few weeks. Mostly cigar minnows with a few speedos mixed in. The cigars have been huge recently due to them being full of roe.Our new man Kevin will be attacking the hardtails next week so keep a bent ear and do not be afraid to ask about availability on a daily basis. We are still a man down due to a severe illness , but we hope Mike can return soon. In the meantime our crew will continue to take up the slack for our friend Mike and do our best to serve everyone. Thanks to everyone who has visited us in Destin and we appreciate your business. As for Panama City and Pensacola , they have the same to report.
Thanks and see ya soon,
Joey

Here are some "How to" tips that Joey refers to as "Live Bait Sense" on how to procure that livewell full of fresh bait:

-Turn on your VHF radio to ch.80 and check your volume

-Call from the pass to find out our locations

-Once you've contacted us on ch.80 and recieved instructions, please be courteous to other fisherman who are either in line to purchase bait or baitfishing for a charter

-Start your livewell long before you pull up to get bait to ensure it's working properly and that there is no foreign chemical residue from your cleanup the day before

- Know in advance the amount of bait you would like to purchase

-Idle speed from a safe distance is appreciated and those who do will be rewarded for your respect and courtesy.Remember-speeding to the live bait boats will not increase your chances of getting bait.

-Be ready when it is your turn. use your VHF to communicate with us

-Don't be afraid to ask questions about the size and condition of the bait which varies everyday due to conditions beyond our control,ie.predators, ocean swell, tide, temperature or theft

-Fishing near the bait boats will greatly decrease your chances of being able to purchase bait from us.We try to fish away from the fleet whenever possible and expect the same respect from others

-Once you have purchased your bait, idle away slowly before throttling up your boat
